About my post ‘Broken Again’: After the Xserve came back, we installed 10.6 in a test environment. After a week strange things were happening. Again the raid controller acted strange and DNS & Apache were out of control. I had contact with Apple Care in Ireland several times, and finally the answer came:
Hi Robbert,
‘We will replace this machine for you’
I’m glad that Apple is sensitive for the quote ‘Customer Satisfaction’….

Just seen a few WWDC ‘09 sessions about the new Snow Leopard server coming out in September. Apple is finally taking iCal serious, which is great. We have also be waiting for the Mobile Access Server and the other stuff
Well, we have software Maintenance but I think I’m going to wait until update No. 3 or something. First take a test ride..

After a broken OD & messing around with replica’s and masters, I ‘ve found that probably one of my replica’s has a hardware failure. After publishing all replica’s to standalone and only publisch the first replica’s back in place, (specially not the one that probably has a hardware failure, witch could be one 2 servers ) the master server keeps complaining about ‘ERROR- PasswordService not found’ in Server Admin. I was kind of freaking around to solve this problem, because all the log files seems to be ok. After the first login on a replica from a client, the message disappear… The OD seems to fine, it corrected it self. I can setup new users without errors in Workgroup Manager, everybody gets a Kerberos ticket etc. Strange behaviour…
Last night I’ve found another strange thing… My backup of the OD data used to be about 25 mb. Now it is about 147 mb. When I look closer to the files, it’s the authservermain file (/var/db/authserver) who has grown… When I let another (new) replica join the master domain, it let the above mentioned file grow with another 10 mb. Anyone who has a solution: pleas mail me!
